How Floods Occur
There are many different types of flood in which occur in many different ways:
Flash Floods:
Flash floods are floods that often occur after there is a massive storm with heavy rain fall causing dams, river banks, basins, etc to over flow. Flash floods usually travel at an amazing speed and can sometimes flood cities, towns and roads all in one night.

Coastal Floods:
Coastal floods are floods which are caused by raging storms and hurricanes in the ocean which can sometimes lead giant tidal waves being blown on land flooding all nearby cities, town and villages thus drowning thousands of people all over the world.
River Floods:
River floods are floods that occur when the snow on the top of mountains starts to melt due to hot weather creating a sudden raise in water levels of rivers and streams causing them to overflow hence flooding everything in its path.

Pluvial Floods:
Pluvial Floods are floods that occur in flat surface areas after the rain water stored in underground canals over flow due to heavy rain fall and start to rise to the surface flooding the area above.
